Feasibility Studies
If you are considering the development of a new system or enhancement to an existing one there are several factors that you will need to take into consideration. For example, what are the options, how viable are they, what are the potential savings/costs to the business, what are the technical challenges and is the work even necessary.
To make sure that your organisation is fully prepared when making the decision whether or not to go ahead with the implementation of a major I.T. solution we would produce a Feasibility Study Report on your behalf. This report would take the initial aspirations of the key stakeholders and instigators of this proposal of work and, using formal analysis techniques transform these into a formal presentation of what their intended goals are, covering areas such as:
- Ascertaining the major objectives of this work.
- Defining the scope and options available.
- Attaining input from the relevant business stakeholders.
- Ascertaining one or more potential solutions that could meet your intended goals.
- Identifying any fixed points that may limit or bind any proposed solutions
- Carrying out a cost-benefit analysis for each of the possible solutions, identifying those that best meet your budget and schedule.
- Outlining the benefits and drawbacks of each potential solution.
- Outlining how the work might be carried out, with a view to what expertise and resources may be required.
- Presenting these options to the users and management and take on board their views.
- Finally providing a recommendation as what is the most suitable of the potential solutions to me your needs and propose the way forward. We can also present this in the form of a Business Case to the relevant Stakeholders if required.
See Business Analysis for further services we provide in this area.
